It is generally done by setting the rate of exchange or by raising or decreasing the price. This is generally frowned since its effects to the artificial misrepresentationin currency costs. It is also regarded as an illegal practice depending on the international agreements and US laws. This leads to unfair trading benefits as artificially devaluing the currency of a country could make the exports attractive and cheaper.
