This is defined as the measure of the strength of the trends of existing market. It is derived from different directional indicators, called as DI- or DI+ which are a resultant from DMI which stands for directional movement index. It is calculated by calculating the dissimilaritybetween DI- and DI+ and the total of DI_ and DI_. The differences is divided by total and the answeris multiplied by hundred. The product is called as directional index. It takes the form from zero to hundred. Hundred shows the marketplace is moving exclusively in a negative or positive direction showing a powerful trend.
