Philadelphia Index
This index is also called as Fed Index or Outlook survey. It is defined as the report which is published each month by Reserve Bank that deals with the expansion or contraction level within a manufacturing industry. It is released in every three weeks in a month and consists of data from the earlier month. The report depends on the survey of queries that are administered to the owners and employees in taking part in the industries of the manufacturing sector across New Jersey, Delaware and Philadelphia. Members are inquired about the whole change in the activities of the business for that specific month. Depending on the survey, this report generates either a positive or a negative number. A number under zero shows that the manufacturing business is diminishing, whereas the number more than zero shows that the business is growing. This report also shows comparisons between the existing month and the earlier month and an overview of six month of the earlier reports.
